How To Nourish Yourself

Take the time each day to feed you, all of you.
I was not doing that. Normally for lunch, I’d have a piece of fruit or a bar, standing up going through emails. In 15 to 20 minutes, I’m off to the next client or project. It’s quick and efficient but honestly, it was joyless. I was in the energy of rush and doing.
Was I nourishing me? Not at all, I had little pleasure and resented the lack of me time.
Then, I decided to make a change.
I ate outside on my deck with no phone or computer as a distraction. All I heard was the lapping of water against the rocky shore and the chirping of birds while gazing out at the still, pale blue bay.
My salad took less than five minutes to make. The colors provided a visual feast that made me smile. While my taste buds savored the sweet, bitter, salty with a touch of heat.
In the same amount of time, I nourished my body and senses. My heart was full, fueled by feeling and being. This is an act of self-love.
Life is a string of little experiences; make the most of each one. This is loving you.
